FAQ
Short answers to common questions.
ChemTool is a web portal for Safety Data Sheets (SDS), a hazardous substance list with quantities, workplace/storage assignments, QR code access, warnings during assignments and Suva‑method risk analysis (STOP/5×5) – including documents and labels.
ChemTool is used by dealers as well as end‑user businesses. Features, views and permissions are tailored to the role (e.g. SDS sending for dealers, quantities/assignments for businesses).
No. SDS access is via browser. The QR code opens the SDS directly – no login and no installation (if the device has internet access).
Quantities are assigned per workplace and/or storage location. The hazardous substance list also shows a consolidated total quantity across the organization.
Warnings can be derived from SDS data (e.g. H/EUH, limit values), from risk analysis check points and from storage conditions (e.g. class/profile, incompatibilities).
Suva‑method risk analysis: 5×5/STOP matrix, check points and documented measures. Screenshots on the website are examples and must not be copied as‑is.
Editing features are in a protected area with user accounts. Permissions can be granted per department. Internal company documents are served via non‑guessable paths to reduce unwanted access.
SDS sending is available in the dealer area after sign‑in. Single or package sending, selection via number blocks and automatic re‑sending when an SDS is replaced (e.g. 12 months).
Manufacturer SDS are provided to your customers based on customer‑specific approvals. Outside the approved recipient group, documents remain protected.
