ChemTool features
ChemTool is a web portal for Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and hazardous substance management.
Employees access SDS via QR code in the browser; administration and editing is done via user accounts.
The goal: find the right SDS fast, assign products to real locations (storage/workplaces), and work with realistic quantities.
Swiss context: Swiss Chemicals Ordinance (ChemV) · Suva · EKAS. If required, we also support the involvement of ASA occupational safety specialists.
Access & permissions
Everyday SDS access
Employees open SDS directly via QR code –
no login and no installation, on any internet‑capable device (if coverage is available).
Language‑guided access: employees see SDS registered in the company/user language.
Protected area (editing)
Editing features (assignments, quantities, risk analysis, warnings) are available in a protected area. Accounts can be granted per department and then only allow managing that department’s data.
Internal company documents are served via non‑guessable paths to reduce unwanted access.
SDS inventory
Search & filters
Filter by language, manufacturer and more – useful for large assortments.
SDS sending (dealers)
Send SDS to customers individually or as a package – including number blocks and automatic re‑sending when SDS are replaced. Multilingual sending is possible if language versions exist in the inventory.
Assignments, quantities & hazardous substance list
Free naming of locations
Storage locations and workplaces can be named freely to match the real organization.
Move products
Move full quantities or partial quantities (e.g. a site that changes location).
Total quantity
The hazardous substance list shows quantities per location and the total quantity across the organization.
Suva risk analysis & check points
Risk analysis according to the Suva method (5×5/STOP matrix) with check points such as young worker/maternity protection, limit values (MAK/KZGW), threshold quantities (StFV/OPAM) and storage‑related controls.
Documents & labels
Structured documents for print and availability (labels, posters, transport/disposal forms). Based on the products assigned to a workplace, ChemTool automatically generates work instructions and training documents – individually or in bulk. Output as PDF (download) or as images, depending on the use case.
