SDS · inventory & quantities · risk analysis

ChemTool organizes Safety Data Sheets – from supplier to workplace.

In real life, SDS are often scattered, outdated, or hard to find at the point of use. ChemTool keeps SDS up‑to‑date and makes them available in a clear, structured way – from storage to production. ChemTool supports duty of care in day‑to‑day chemical management – in the Swiss context (ChemV, Suva, EKAS).

For businesses, employees open SDS directly at the point of use – e.g. via QR code (optionally per workplace or storage location), without login and without installation, on any internet‑capable device (if coverage is available). Editing features (assignments, quantities, risk analysis, warnings, master data) are available in a protected area with user accounts – logins can be granted per department.

Typical use cases: chemical trade, industry, workshops, labs, facility management – and any business working with hazardous substances.

Onboarding in 5 steps

Five steps from SDS stock to a real, up‑to‑date situation – from the canister in storage to the smaller quantity at the workplace.

1) Bring in existing SDS

You send your existing SDS electronically. We import them into the system and structure them so that language, manufacturer and version are easy to find.

2) Assign & track quantities

Define workplaces and storage locations, assign products, maintain quantities – including moving full or partial quantities. The purchase supplier per product is stored and can be changed if needed.

3) Access & checks

Staff open SDS via QR code in the browser (no login/installation). The substance list, risk analysis and warnings support internal checks and action planning.

Details: onboarding in 5 steps (proven sequence).

  1. Build the SDS inventory: receive existing SDS electronically, import them and ensure updates via suppliers/manufacturers.
  2. Define your structure: departments, workplaces and storage locations – tailored to your operation.
  3. Assign products & maintain quantities: per location, plus total quantity; move full or partial quantities.
  4. Roll out QR codes & posters: access at the point of use – no login/installation (if network available).
  5. Use risk analysis & warnings: check points, measure planning, ongoing quality control.
