Onboarding

ChemTool mirrors the real situation – from the canister in storage to the smaller quantity at the workplace. The following sequence has proven to work well in practice.

1) Build the SDS inventory

  • Receive existing SDS electronically (from the customer) and import them into the system.
  • Store the purchase supplier per product and change it if needed – so it’s clear where updates must be requested.
  • Create/extend SDS and cover sheets with partners if required.
  • Structure data so language/manufacturer filtering is fast.

2) Define your structure

  • Name departments, workplaces and storage locations freely.
  • Include mobile locations: service vehicle, construction site, cleaning cart.
  • Basis for quantities, posters and reporting.

3) Assign products & maintain quantities

  • Assign products with any packaging/quantities.
  • Move full or partial quantities (e.g. shifting sites).
  • The hazardous substance list shows per‑location and total quantities.

4) Roll out QR codes & posters

  • QR codes per workplace/storage – browser access, no installation.
  • Poster includes the section “Measures in case of poisoning and chemical burns”.
  • According to Suva, the poster should be displayed where acids and alkalis are used.

5) Use risk analysis & warnings

  • Suva risk analysis (5×5/STOP) with check points.
  • Warnings derived from SDS data, risk analysis and storage conditions.
  • Supports internal checks, measure planning, purchasing and production.
